About TCAS
The Canine Advocate Sanctuary (TCAS) specialises in complex cases that cannot be safely rehomed through traditional pathways, including dogs with bite history, trauma, or legal restrictions. Our aim is to provide secure sanctuary, behavioural rehabilitation where possible, and lifelong care when rehoming is not an option.
What Makes TCAS Different
Traditional dog rescues focus on rehabilitating and rehoming dogs into suitable families. When a dog cannot be safely rehomed due to behavioural risk, bite history, or legal restrictions, rescues often face extremely difficult decisions because their resources must prioritise dogs who can successfully find homes.
Unlike people, who may be supported through rehabilitation, dogs with behavioural difficulties are often euthanised without the same opportunity for assessment and recovery.
The Canine Advocate Sanctuary (TCAS) exists to support the dogs who fall into that gap. We specialise in complex behavioural cases where rehoming may not be possible or safe. Instead of focusing on adoption, TCAS provides structured assessment, behavioural rehabilitation where appropriate, and secure sanctuary when lifelong care is the most responsible outcome.
Our aim is to provide a compassionate and controlled alternative between rehoming and euthanasia while maintaining public safety and animal welfare.
